2027: Shehu Sani Urges Candidates Affected By S’Court Ruling To Reconsider Participation

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Sen. Shehu Sani, has urged candidates affected by the September 24 Supreme Court ruling on provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026, to reconsider their participation in the race, warning that they may be wasting their time and resources.
Speaking in a statement posted on his X handle, Sani said supporters of the affected candidates might continue to encourage them to remain in the race despite the legal implications of the ruling.
According to him, the candidates should not be swayed by such encouragement, as their continued participation may not lead to the desired outcome.

“If you are one of those candidates affected by the September Supreme Court ruling, you shouldn’t waste your time and resources.
“Your supporters will continue to beat the drums for you to stay in the race, but you are heading nowhere. We have the experience of losing and winning elections, not as analysts or commentators but as active, frontline participants, so we know both sides very well,” Sani said.
