The lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District, Senator Ali Ndume, has dismissed allegations linking him to ransom payments and negotiations with kidnappers.
The outspoken Senator dismissed the allegations during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he responded to claims made by the President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, Samaila Kaigama.
Saturday Telegraph had earlier reported that Ndume was accused of being involved in ransom negotiations connected to the release of abducted residents of Ngoshe in Borno State.

Reacting to the allegation. Ndume insisted that he has never received ransom money or played any role in talks between kidnappers and the government.
According to him, he neither negotiated with the terrorists nor participated in any ransom arrangement, stating that his only involvement was notifying security agencies after Kaigama informed him about a video allegedly released by Boko Haram/ISWAP demanding a ₦5 billion ransom.
“I have said it already. In my life, I have never seen ₦1 billion cash, not to talk of ₦5 billion,” the senator said.
