An All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Yahaya Seriki-Gambari, has extended a N100m empowerment package and healthcare support to residents of Eji-Dongari community in Moro Local Government Area of the state.

The intervention was facilitated through Kursi Investments Limited in collaboration with the Yahaya Seriki Foundation as part of efforts to support economic empowerment and improve the welfare of members of the host community.

The programme, held in Ilorin on Thursday, attracted traditional rulers, community leaders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of Seriki-Gambari at the event, the General Manager of Kursi Investments Limited, Yahaya Shina, said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to ensuring that its operations contributed positively to the development of its host communities.

Shina said the company believed that mining should not be limited to the extraction of mineral resources but should also create opportunities and improve the standard of living of people within its areas of operation.

He explained that the ₦100m empowerment fund and healthcare support were designed to provide beneficiaries with opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

Earlier, the company’s Corporate Relations Department representative, Halimah Gegele, said the initiative was a demonstration of the organisation’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.
