Hoffenheim striker Gift Orban is on the verge of joining newly promoted Turkish side Amedspor on loan, according to German outlet Kicker, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Orban recently returned to Hoffenheim after spending the past season on loan at Italian club Hellas Verona.

The Nigerian striker made an encouraging start to life in Serie A, scoring seven goals in the first half of the campaign. However, his form dipped after the turn of the 2026 calendar year, with just one more goal to finish the season despite ending as Verona’s top scorer.

Verona opted against making the move permanent following a reported fallout between the striker and the club’s fans, while Hoffenheim also have no place for him in their plans for the new season.

Orban’s spell in Germany followed a similar pattern. After joining Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyonnais for €9m in the January 2025 transfer window, he made a bright start but finished the 2024/25 Bundesliga season with four goals, failing to score after February 2025.

The Bundesliga club recouped part of their investment through the €500,000 loan fee paid by Verona last season.

According to Kicker, Hoffenheim are now set to receive a further €1m loan fee from Amedspor for the 2026/27 campaign.

The report adds that the deal includes an obligation to buy, which will be triggered once Orban reaches a relatively low appearance threshold. If that clause is activated, the 23-year-old will complete a permanent move to the Turkish Süper Lig club for a transfer fee of around €4m.
