…As Anosike Becomes S/ East Welfare Secretary Progressives Chairmen 

Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up 90-man Zonal Committees for candidates of the National and State Assembly elections in the area.

The Committees, which were drawn from the three Senatorial Districts in the state, are charged with the responsibility of interfacing with the candidates to know their respective levels of preparedness for the coming general elections.

The committees, which are designed to be at least 30 members per Senatorial District, are made up of past elected and serving elected functionaries of the state.

This is coming as the state Chairman of the party, Sen. Emma Anosike, recently emerged as the South East Welfare Secretary of the Progressives Chairmen of the South East geopolitical zone.

Inaugurating the Zonal Committees at a joint meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) State Working Committees (SWE) as well as local government Chairmen and Secretaries of the party, Anosike noted that; “The essence of these Committees is to meet with all our candidates and discuss with them and also plan ahead of the general elections and after the meetings the Committees would report their findings and resolutions to the State Executive Committee.

“This is a prelude to the flag-off of our campaigns across the state, and the Committees have two weeks to conclude their assignment, and we urge our candidates to work hand in glove with the Zonal Committees in the interest of the party.”

Anosike, however, stated that all candidates must show seriousness and manifest readiness to execute the elections, adding that all candidates must see it as very important and instructive.

Confirming his latest position as the Welfare Secretary of South East Progressives, Anosike explained that it was a unanimous decision of the Progressives Chairmen, adding that part of his duties is to ensure that all entitlements and Welfare of the respective states in the geopolitical zone are provided and delivered.
