2027: Obi Urges Nigerian Youths To Obtain PVC, Mobilise For Political Change
Nigeria Democractic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerian youths to take greater responsibility in shaping the country’s political future by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participating in elections ahead of the 2027 general polls.
In a message addressed to sports-loving Nigerian youths on Monday, Obi referenced global sporting events and the participation of Nigerian music stars at the 2026 World Cup opening ceremony, while expressing concern over Nigeria’s absence at the tournament and the growing trend of Nigerian-born players representing other countries.
He described young Nigerians as the real stakeholders in the nation’s future, stressing that with millions of citizens newly eligible to vote, the youth population has the power to determine who occupies key political offices across all levels of government.

Obi encouraged young people to move beyond political scepticism and instead organise within their communities, campuses, workplaces, and religious centres to demand accountability and participate actively in the democratic process.
He further urged them not to remain passive observers, insisting that meaningful change can only be achieved through active voter participation and civic engagement, while also expressing willingness to engage directly with organised youth groups to share his ideas for national development.
Obi emphasised that Nigerian youths must take ownership of the country’s future, urging them to “take it back” through the power of their votes.
