Polaris Bank Debunks Fatality Claims After Fire Outbreak At Lagos Branch
Polaris Bank has dismissed reports claiming that dozens of people died in a fire incident at its Broad Street branch in Lagos, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by the bank’s management, the fire reportedly broke out at the car park of the Broad Street branch, originating from a customer’s vehicle parked on the third-floor parking area.
The bank said emergency response procedures were immediately activated, while firefighters swiftly intervened to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

According to the statement, no casualties or fatalities were recorded during the incident.
Polaris Bank specifically refuted reports alleging that more than 34 persons were feared dead, insisting that such claims were inaccurate and did not reflect the reality of the situation.
The financial institution added that investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing and assured customers and stakeholders of its commitment to safety and operational continuity.
The bank also expressed appreciation to emergency responders, staff, customers, and stakeholders for their support during the incident.
