Banyana Banyana captain Refiloe Jane has declared the team ready for their crucial clash against the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

South Africa and Nigeria were knocked out of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in the quarter-finals, missing out on the tournament’s automatic qualification spots for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Banyana Banyana suffered a 2-1 defeat to hosts Morocco, while the Super Falcons were edged 1-0 by the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

The two African rivals will now battle for a place in the inter-confederation playoffs when they meet at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca on Thursday night.

Jane Battle Ready For Super Falcons

Jane insists Banyana Banyana are fully prepared for the decisive encounter, declaring that the team will leave everything on the pitch as they look to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.

“It will be a crucial match for the team, we came here with an objective to qualify for the World Cup, and we would have liked to qualify the first time given the first opportunity, but things didn’t go our way,” Jane was quoted by safa.net.

” We keep our heads up high, we have another opportunity to do so, so our focus is on the next match, to try and give it our all to continue on this journey.

“The rivalry against Nigeria goes back over the years, we just have to believe and put in the work, and we have shown in the past that we can do it. It’s a real do or die, and we want to leave the field knowing we have given it our all.”

Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire will clash in the other play-in encounter at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca.
